The Baileys Crossroads/Seven Corners Revitalization Corporation is organized as a non-profit corporation to advocate for a comprehensive revitalization program in the Bailey’s Crossroads and Seven Corners areas within Fairfax County, Virginia. The Central Business District of Bailey’s Crossroads is in need of a comprehensive revitalization program.
BCRC has addressed and overseen improved parking, access, landscaping, sidewalks, lighting, business recruitment and marketing of the area. The BCRC leadership brought about the new streetscape on Columbia Pike.
Numerous other improvements, including adding a new Fairfax County office building and other private developments, are already being planned. In 2007, the Urban Land Institute charted a broad path for an improved Baileys Crossroads after a comprehensive study of the area.
BCRC works in partnership with Fairfax County and with business and property owners throughout the area. Successful revitalization depends on the participation of both business owners and residents who care about the future direction of their communities.
The Bailey’s Crossroads and Seven Corners area has emerged as a transit hub connecting Arlington, Alexandria, northern Fairfax County and Washington, D.C. The diversity of residential, commercial and retail areas here makes for a prosperous climate, and a great assortment of business and restaurants adds to a bustling community-rich environment.
The community’s housing market also represents a diverse spectrum. There are high-rise office and apartment buildings, serving as a base for the area’s strong labor force. There is also a more affluent, upscale community with private residences built around a lake.
The mix of residents and businesses creates a pool of buying power that would support transforming these two junctions into an upscale shopping area.
